Our painting “Late Evening” which is a signed and dated 1999 is Oil On Board demonstrates the artist’s skill as a painter. The work shows his use of a colour wash now evident very strikingly in his most recent works, which sell for many thousands of pounds. “Late Evening” is in excellent condition and measures Height 12 inches x Width 15 ¾ inches (H30cms x W39.5cms) and is available £995 Plus ARR subject to prior sale. Graham Crowley was born in 1950 in Romford Essex and studied at St. Martin’s School of Art London from 1968-1972 and Royal College of Art London 1972-75. He has held a number of significant teaching posts including Professor of Painting at the RCA (1998-2006). Crowley’s work spans a vast variance in style from the appropriation orientated art of the 70’s to his brilliantly luminous landscapes of the present day, tracking a fundamental narrative with political, cultural and personal histories within them.

He has shown work in seven previous John Moore’s exhibitions and won joint second prize in 1987. He has also sat on the judging panel. He is represented in several public collections including the Arts Council Collection, The British Council, The Contemporary Art Society, Imperial War Museum and Victoria & Albert Museum to name but a few. He has exhibited in numerous group shows, winning the ING Purchase Prize at The Discerning Eye Mall Galleries London 2004. His most recent solo show was at Beaux Arts London 2005. He has a passion for West Cork, which he has been visiting for the last 20 years and from where he also works.
